In the reality we know, a young boy let go his brother's hand in a time of crisis, and lost everything. For the rest of his life, he searched in hopes of finding him and making his family whole again.
In another, a reflection of this one...there was no family left. Only rage, hatred, and despair.
Javic Piotr Thane was an adolescent on the Boeshane Peninsula in the 51st Century. During an assault by a vicious and sadistic alien race, he was charged with his younger brother's protection, but lost hold of his hand and lost track of little Gray.
Not my little boy. Not my baby. His mother's words would haunt him. Her death would poison him, wasting away from grief over the son she lost--all but abandoning the son she had left.
That was how Javic saw it...and as time caused the wound of his orphaning to fester, so did his boundless love for his baby brother morph into hate...
…and Javic Piotr Thane spent the rest of his life searching for little Gray, in hopes of finding him to extract the only reward left him.
